Meet the delivery service level agreements with customers (mainly exports)
Principal Responsibilities of this Position:
Understand the customer requirements (sales & forecast) from the sales & marketing. Workout machine and material scheduling to meet the committed customer deadlines.Communicate the possible shipment dates against order after (re)working the production schedules
Planning Ahead: Tactical and Strategic Planning:
Short to mid-term Capacity Planning. Escalate shortages in man, machine, and material requirements.
Understand the strategic business plans and propose capacity requirements accordingly Interpret and publish information with recommendations for top level decision making
Planning: Business as Usual: Planning: Prepare the production plan. Monitor plan vs reality. Ensure Optimum utilization of Production capacity based on budgeted throughput
New Products Planning: Understand new product requirement from Sales and NPD team and schedule production orders
Supervision: Directly supervise overall Supply /Production plan Collaboration: Coordinate with Procurement, Quality, Physical Logistics and other related functions to ensure that finished good leave the shores on time. Laying out effective scheduling of production, ETO treatment and material movement from factory to warehouse.
Technical Appreciation: Thorough knowledge of all activities in the plant. Working knowledge of technical aspects of products for proper planning (product characteristics, thru-puts line wise, yield loss wise and customer requirements)
Prudence: Workout and implement plan of usage of WIP, FG excess stocks based on inputs from materials and inventory management team.
Deliverable’s of this Position:
Prepares quarterly supply plan with a view to plan out the production cycle based on the raw material availability and the commitments made by the Sales & Marketing department to the customers Evaluate both monthly /quarterly resources availability vs. requirement in coordination with Procurement Department and ensure raw material as per specs and in time plan availability.Prepare and update a proper shipment plan and provide information to process based on the clearances from statutory bodies.
Meet the shipments plan evaluate lines availability for processing in coordination with Production Department and keep fully abreast of Production related activities and proactively plan to overcome likely bottlenecks / problems Attend meetings when necessary to highlight criticality on the progress of runs scheduled and for any deviations on the targeted product.Keep Sales & Marketing team informed of any likely, uncontrollable delays in meeting commitments and the contingency plan for the same
Coordinate with Procurement, QA, Production and Sales & Marketing, to ensure right quality, right quantity and at right time
Assign work to ensure continuity of work flow. Give advice and guidance on work procedures.
Allocate staff to meet short-term and long term fluctuations in work.
Establish & ensure quality and quantity standards are met.
Manage team of managers, Executives, staff and workers & deal with their issues such as recruitment, training, discipline, performance and progress.
Solve a variety of problems in situations and develop standardization to avoid recurrence
Provide information. Collect, assemble, distribute, file information to produce standard reports and / or statements. Interpret, analyze and report information used by others in decision-making or action taking.Carry out multiple specialized procedures requiring regular use of Technical, management and communication skills to discuss/explain semi-complex information.
A moderate amount of planning of other s activities is required

Organizational Relationships of this Position:
Operationally and Functionally reports to General Manager
Supervises a team of Executives and Assistant Managers
Internal interface with members of Quality, Commercial and Supply Chain members of management team
External interface with Vendors and Service Providers
Experience of 7 to 9 years in planning centric roles in manufacturing context.
Lead the planning team
Skills in Planning, Analysis & Organization.
Ability to motivate and lead a team
Problem Solving & Maths skills
Computer knowledge (MS Office)
Exposure to ERP based MRP systems is desirable but not mandatory
Ideal Educational Background: Bachelors in Technology from a college of repute (ideally IIT / NIT). MBA from a top 20 B-School is an
advantage but not a limiter. Masters in any Quantitative discipline is plus (Supply Chain Management, Management Sciences, Applied Mathematics..).
Graduates of NITIE / SP Jain /IIMs / IIT Schools of Management will certainly have an upper edge, esp. those with Operations Management concentration.
